Abstract

In order to combat contemporary ideological and intellectual challenges, and to re-define Islamic thought, a research based society is necessary. This aim cannot be achieved without emphasis on education and research in different fields of life. By publishing ‘Hamdard Islamicus’ which is one of the two research journals being published by Hamdard Foundation Pakistan, we actually serve academia with the same clear motto and objective. This combined issue comprises valuable articles. In the first article from Hungary, titled ‘AbË Huraira’s Cat in Goethe’s Paradise’ the author is in search of answers to a few questions regarding one of the four privileged animals, like AbË Huraira’s Cat, who are allowed to enter paradise.
